As I sit here constantly writing numerous of Chinese Characters from Lesson 1 to 6, I keep youtube surfing for new songs. I've been doing this countless of times because I get sided track or bored of rewriting characters left and right. It's about 20 minutes before the test and I have no idea if all of these characters will be remembered as I enter the classroom today. But on the bright side I found some great new music that fits perfectly to my studying habits at the moment. I hope you enjoy listening to the string section as much as I do.. if not well maybe you should try it out.
These are all covers made by Vitamin String Quartet:
Semi Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind
Ocean Avenue - Yellowcard
Hey There Delilah - Plain White Ts
Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Love Story - Taylor Swift
I Miss You - Incubus
Just a few.. I'm sure you will be doing the same thing I have been doing all morning/afternoon... My favorite hobby... Youtube surfing.
Enjoi,
Alastar Swift
Ps: Hope this cheers you up on a bad day.
Watch this video (but mute it) as you listen to this in the background.

Love4Music 3.0
The one thing that keeps me sane from all the insanity that happens in this little world we call "earth" is the love of music. I've been introduced to some new music but at the same time I'm not much of a fan of it. It's probably because it's pop music at it's finest or its the fact that I can't understand a single word of the song. But I do try. But sometimes I just have to go back to my favorite pastime... surfing Youtube for favorite songs that I wear out constantly from listening to them 24/7... These songs are pretty old and but I always hit a long gap where I stop listening to songs and then pick them up again after a few months of not listening to them. These aren't new songs to me but at the same time they have brought a whole new perspective to my life at this moment in my life. I hope you enjoy them as much as I currently do.
Dub FX - Love Me or Not
- I love this song.. I love the beat, I love the harmony, and most of all the lyrics are just.. Quiet Simply couldn't be any better. This man shows pure love for the creation of music and that's what I enjoy most. It also reminds me that I always have to keep moving ahead no matter what even if our chapter is over or if a new chapter is just beginning. "What will the world bring..."
I guess it's only been 10 days since my best friend's birthday and it's still on my mind how much I've changed over the years. I'm also granted to be able to see and hang out with him in my dreams the past few weeks. They are bittersweet but I would never wish them to stop. This song just has so many meaning to me that it's crazy. I guess that's what happens when I find a musician that love music as much as I do. Maybe I connect to this song so much because this is how I kind of view my life and that I simply couldn't explain it any better than Dub FX has done. This is only a one song post for the sole purpose of [me] wanting to have you experience "youtube surfing." Dub FX has many more songs that I wanted to post up but it would be great to share the feeling of finding a great song that you just want to share with your friends. Have fun and try "youtube surfing" for your favorite type of music!

PS: If you don't want to youtube surf nor have time. Let me give you a link to see this artist perform live.
Dub FX - Made ... This video show's how he makes his songs. This is why I enjoy listening to his music.

Love4Music 2.0
Another sleepless night of listening to music as it is probably one of my favorite past times. If I could, I would want to have the job of finding up and coming bands to promote and help them get rich and famous. (pretty much help them "sell out") Sure it wouldn't be the most glamorous job, but I really don't need anything fancy to live a happy life. Going to underground clubs to hear bands, meeting crazy people that come from a different living experience that I couldn't even imagine and getting to hear all the different perspectives on life... I mean what else do you need?!
Have you ever had a song pop in your head, but you can't think of the title of it nor the artist? Cause I definitely struggled with that for the past hour. I could only remember one word of the song title.. and sadly it wasn't enough for youtube to help me out. The only person I know that would know the song title and could help me out... Well, she has a full-time 8-5 job and I doubt she would enjoy me waking her up at 2am asking for a song title. Anyways after hours of searching I luckily found it. I really have no idea what made me think of this song. Oh well I hope you enjoy it.
The Friday Night Boys - Permanent Heartbreak Acoustic Live
With the awesome-ness that comes along with youtube is the possibility to find more music that fits your tastes by their suggestion column. So I stumbled upon this song that I really liked. I've never heard of Anarbor before, but I'm sure I'll be searching through all their songs in the next couple days.
Anarbor - Passion for Publication
Well I hope you enjoy this type of music... I'm a huge fan of acoustic songs like these, maybe minus the whole heartbreak part of it... The thing that draws me into some songs would be the fact I can hear/see the passion and emotional connection between the artist and their song. That's what I think music should be.

PS. For everyone who would call this "EMO", well let me elaborate a bit. What is "emo" short for? Emotion. All music contains some sort of emotion because that is what draws people to that certain song. That is why one person can LOVE a song and a different person can HATE it. It's about the connect. Just a reminder that almost all songs can really be called, "EMO". All except for the horrendous music that is only created for radio play. Those are what I like to call, Awful.

Love4Music
Surfing Youtube, as it's my favorite late night activity to find some more music. I remember in Highschool I didn't have the opportunity to hunt down new music and I used to burn CDs with my best friend, Billy, and cruise the home-town. Music is my passion, unfortunately I am musically declined at the moment but I am making strides to have some type of musical talent. I've been working on guitar for the past 3 years and hopefully in the next few years I will either pick up singing or piano. I'll most likely pick up whichever one is easier when I have to work full-time and pay off my AWESOME student loans. Anyways, I came across these talented people and I recommend to check them out further than these two links:
Cover #1
Cover #2
Now the two covers are of the same song, but by no means are they the same. You will realize what I mean when you listen to them. I stumbled upon the first one by clicking the piano player's piano cover, which he has some serious skills. Then I got to the second one from clicking on Anth's (the rapper) page. Crazy how you can find music from just surfing random videos. Got to love Technology!
